Huguette Rivière et Georges Noré - Manon - Duo du 1er acte - concert du 7 mai 1957- Direction Robert Benedetti. Huguette Rivière Je ne possède aucun renseignement sur la carriere. Elle ne figure pas parmi les cantatrices de l'Opéra. Elle participa à plusieurs concerts de la RadioTélévision Française dans les années 1950-1960 Connaissez-vous sa carrière ? Des détails seraient intéressants. Merci à l'avance Georges Noré Georges Noré a été le « Faust » natonal pendant 20 années et a chanté ce rôle quelque 2000 fois. Né au Mans le 25 mars 1910, chantant pour son plaisir, il exerça dès son adolescence des activités diverses très éloignées de l'art lyrique. En 1935 la revue « Comoedia » et les maîtres du chant français organisèrent un concours de ténors à l'Opéra de Paris. Noré gagna le 1er prix et fut engagé à l'Opéra. Pendant 3 ans il y chanta les petits emplois, apprenant ainsi son métier. Il stagnait quelque peu. Un jour de 1938, Georges Thill, souffrant, dut renoncer à chanter une représentation de Rigoletto. Il le remplaça et fut ainsi lancé. Peu après il paraissait sous les traits de Faust, puis Mylo du Roi d'Ys, Huon de Bordeaux d'Obéron et Roméo. L'Opéra-Comique lui ouvrit ses portes en 1942. Il y chanta Des Grieux, Pinkerton, Mario de la Tosca et il y incarna un de ses rôles de prédilection : Werther. Il chanta aux Pays-Bas, en Suisse, en Belgique, à Londres et à Florence. Il se retira de la scène au mois d'octobre 1960 Il est décédé le 5 février 2001à Château-Renault ...

Alain Vanzo, Tenor (1928-2002) Georges Bizet - DON PROCOPIO Sulle piume dell´amore (Broadcast-recording 1975) My personal opinion: A boy chorister in Monte Carlo, he later continued his musical studies at Aix-les-Bains. After winning a tenor-competition at Cannes in 1954 , he made his Opéra début in Paris that year as a Pirate in OBERON by Weber. Following a period of small roles at both Paris houses, in 1956 he undertook the Duke of Mantua at the Opéra and Gérard in Delibes´LAKMÉ at the Opéra-Comique, and won renown throughout France and Belgium in French lyric parts - Hector Berlioz 's BENVENUTO CELLINI, Charles Gounod's FAUST (a role he sang in Philadelphia in 1984 ) and Vincent (MIREILLE), Edouard Lalo 's Mylio (LE ROI D´YS), Jules Massenet 's Des Grieux and WERTHER. He also performed music by Donizetti, Verdi and Puccini . Although he appeared as Edgardo in LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR and Rodolfo, it remains surprising that in a time of shortage a french tenor of his elegant, clean style and well-formed vocal timbre should not have received wider international acclaim. For the british connoisseur Lord Harewood, Alain Vanzo was "the most underrated french tenor after the war". By contrast another critic wrote, that Vanzo "never was in the same class as other lyric french tenors were!" It may be, but today we would be very happy if we had a tenor like him - a specialist for the french lyric repertory ...
